FLIR Tau SWIR

The Tau SWIR joins FLIR’s Tau and Neutrino families of best-in-class size, weight and power (SWaP) optimized cameras.

A shortwave infrared (SWIR) camera core, Tau SWIR provides outstanding image quality and performance over a wide range of imaging and light level conditions. It is ideal for a variety of OEM applications, including hyperspectral instrumentation, silicon inspection, electro-optical payloads, art restoration, and portable applications.

The Tau SWIR camera incorporates FLIR’s high resolution 640x512 ISC1202 Indium Gallium Arsenide (InGaAs) 15-micron pitch focal plane array (FPA) and includes several advanced camera controls features.

TAU SWIR SIC-200

Tau SWIR SIC-200 is a commercial grade, ITAR-free sensor specifically designed for silicon processing and inspection uses, as well as machine vision applications. It is ideal for pharmaceutical uses, semiconductor and solar panel inspections, and manufacturing defect monitoring.

Tau SWIR Thermal Cameras

Export Information – IMPORTANT

All Tau SWIR cameras as well as related technical data (other than data approved for public release) are controlled for export purposes by the U.S. Department of Commerce (USDOC) and require a validated export license from the USDOC prior to export, re-export, or re-transfer of a Tau SWIR camera outside of the United States or Canada. The Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) is 6A003b.4.a for all Tau SWIR cameras.

Two forms are required in order for FLIR to apply to the Department of Commerce for the purpose of obtaining a validated export license for Tau SWIR cameras:

  1. A form BIS-711, Statement of Ultimate Consignee or Purchaser, must be completed by the consignee and end-user. FLIR’s export staff then forwards the completed form to USDOC. Export, re-export, or re-transfer of Tau 2 cameras or related technical data without prior approval by the U.S. government is not permitted. Diversion contrary to U.S. law is prohibited.
  2. FLIR's Transaction Information form.

General

employs a team of trade compliance professionals that understand the export rules and regulations, and can assist customers with their export questions and issues. In circumstances whereby FLIR delivers a camera to a customer in the U.S. who intends to export or re-export the FLIR camera outside of the United States, whether or not the camera is integrated into another product, it is the customer’s responsibility to apply for the required export license from the appropriate department of the U.S. government. Diversion contrary to U.S. law is prohibited.

Export policies governing the export of thermal imaging cameras are established by the U.S. government, and in order for FLIR to comply with the policy requirements, FLIR in turn must ensure that our customers agree to these conditions.
